loose gearknob
hello all.
got an e240 avantagarde with all the trim, and very nice it is to. Problem is, i tried to unscrew the gearknob so as to replace it, but the damm thing will not come off. Any ideas as to how to remove it and refit?
Also i was told by someone down the pub that domestic German benz's are more powerful than export models because they have to scream down the auto bahn at treble figure speeds. Mine is a right hand driver... so how would this work. is it just BS? it smells like it.
cheers

Just to add to E-Klasse comment.
Take a material which has good grip, wrap around the bottom black piece and turn the bottom piece of the knob counter-clock wise. Once turned 1/4 pull striaght up.
