Headliner issues
Hi all,
Need some help. The headliner in our E320 wagon is sagging to put it lightly. SO I've read a whole bunch of posts, and got the headliner out for the most part. But, nobody seems to have a wagon tutorial. So my issue is this. There is a metal bracket that goes around the opening of the headliner (between the roof and the headliner) that seems to clip into the rear sunroof opening. It glues to the headliner, and like I said seems to clip into the roof rail on the back edge of the sunroof. But I can't figure out how to get it out. It's held in the really strong. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

I suggest that you PM "konigstiger" in the W211 forum and ask him to provide you with document AR6830p4300FA and the six supporting documents for the removal of your head liner.
That way you will be able to see and feel the factory removal process and quickly determine what your issue is all about.

Hi All,
It was just stubborn. I got it out, but had to remove it and the headliner in 2 separate pieces. In the process of gluing it back now.

So the part that was hard to get out was a metal U shapes rail that was glued to the headliner and clips onto the roof at the rear edge of the sunroof opening. I thought, from reading other posts, if you pushed the headliner forward, it would "unclip". This was not the case. I ended up using a screw driver from the back, opened the U a little and pushed it forward and it came out.

DJSeth, were you successful at glueing your sagging headliner? My W210 is sagging at two spots. I went to a local interior place that gave me a price of $600 for them to replace with their fabric. Told me that the original fabric can not be re-glued back or I would have to order the entire headliner from dealer. What type of fabric glue did you use.
Plutoe, where can I get/view the headliner removal instructions. Thanks.
