give it a few more years and i think you will be surprised,124's are going up steadily for the right cars, good spec and big engine models only though

It is unfortunate, but most cars with the Diamler/Chrysler badge will never be worth what older models are. They were also made in much larger numbers than earlier models therefore reducing their value even further.

This, though nice, is a Diamler CHRYSTLER product and doesn't hold value as well as some well maintained and lower mileage older Benz vehicles

Guys you can say all you want. Low mileage does play a role in resale value for most buyers, certainly for me. I refuse to buy a vehicle with excessive mileage. Even though my S210 is driven daily we make a point of "saving" our mileage. We do this with every car we drive, even our Miata. We try to plan our routes and do the best we can to avoid driving when is not necessary. Great for saving $$ on gas too...

98 E300 Turbo Diesel
Barely broken in!
Our 98 E300TD has 188,800 miles, and we just traded in an 87 that had 320,000 miles and was still going strong. These machines are built to run exceptionally well with the right maintenance, so it's not the mileage but how the owner's treat these cars that makes the difference.
And yes, I too plan my routes with a bit more care these days, but most new cars I drive can't come close to the performance of our W210.
To paraphrase Nike, "Just Drive It!"

I should also add that my baby (my '91 Miata, that is; the Benz is my wife's car) is much, much older at 23 years and close to 308,000 miles on the clock! But it still runs well and I still smile every time I drive it hard.
Hopefully we'll have a similar experience with our E320.
