Exclamation E320 Oil Leak - Whats this part??

Oil leaking from this housing on front of engine. See Photo - Pointing to the bottom star bolt, drips from here, and becoming more frequent.
Could this be a seal behind this housing leaking?

Occasionally drive the car - Had oil changed - noticed a small rare drip. ..took it was a spill of excess oil or drain plug seal may have been bad.
months have past, put oil in after low minimum oil level notice few weekends ago & the check engine light came on. Cleaned the engine with degreaser and found the leak.

That is the oil inspection port. The round screw is removed to attach a oil pressure gauge. It is a common leak point on the V6. You want the rectangular rubber gasket. Just a few dollars at the dealer. Two torx bolts for mounting. There is an o-ring for the screw plug but that usually doesn't leak.

Sigh of relief - Thanks Richard !!! I assume when they changed the oil, it wasn't replaced or maybe pinched. Easy fix ! No More Leak !!! Reference to Part # 1121840208

There are actually two different versions of the rectangular gasket for the M112 V6 oil pressure test port.

This version of the gasket (MB Part Number 112 184 01 61) fits up to engine number 30 510814 and is available on our website HERE, or by clicking on the photo below.

This version of the gasket (MB Part Number 112 184 02 80) fits from engine number 30 510815 and is available on our website HERE, or by clicking on the photo below.

If there is anything I can help out with, please feel free to post or send a PM!
