Inner Firewall Removal

Does anyone know if the inner firewall by the duo valve can be removed for better access? On my W126 it can be removed to gain access to whats behind it. I am having trouble getting the duo valve to seat and not leak, and it is really hard to get at the thing with the firewall there.

How would one ever know? Can't see, can't get your hands in there, can't move it. Which is the issue.
