Aftermarket Radio is Quiet
So when I bought my 2000 e320 it already had an aftermarket alpine head unit in it... it was very quiet, like full volume sounds like not even half in my old car. So I replaced the radio thinking it didn't have enough wattage. The new one is doing 50x4 watts at max and I think 17 rms. So not much, but that's pretty much standard for aftermarket radios. I have it wired up into the "processor" that Mercedes put in (I think that's what it's called) but it's still just as quiet as the last one. Is there anything I'm doing wrong? Any tips?

I'm using the speaker level... I do have the Bose system... So I need to get a head that has 4amp output? Are you talking about for the speaker level?
Would this type of radio (has 4v preamp) be 'at full volume'? http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KDCX...-KDC-X597.html

if it is using speaker level and the volume is low, you have other issues. rca's and speaker levels are different connectors all together, if you have rca plugs plugged into the back of your radio then you are using low level... you would want to use the high level which is speaker. take the radio out and snap a pic and post it
