2000 E320 4Matic Wagon
2000 E320 Wagon won't start at wits end!
Ok Folks,
Here is the deal.
About a year ago I bought a E320 4Matic wagon with 180,000 on it. The car ran great. Not too long after I bought it I had an issue I solved rapidly here. The EGR tube was clogged so I reamed it out and all was good. Not too long after that I had the CPS issue and again resolved the matter with the help of this Forum, THANKS.
About 2 months ago I started having some issues that seemed CPS related and one morning I stopped for gas and then the car failed to start at all. I replaced the CPS again but it turned out to be the Fuel Pump Relay. All was fine until two weeks ago when it started acting up again.
I was at the car wash and the car did not start. It was too late to get parts so I left the car until morning and it started up. The same day I shut it off and it failed to start again. I figured it was the CPS but I checked and had no fuel at the rail. I had already bought a new fuel filter but I exchanged the Fuel Pump Relay I had bought and when that did not correct the problem I installed the new fuel filter. It was not the original as the clamps were not factory. After I replaced it I had fuel at the rail but it was weak at best.
I went ahead and replaced the CPS today and now I have no fuel at the rail.
I am at my wits end and am wondering if it could be a frayed wire ar the like?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
DRGOODBAR

Out Of Control!!
I would love some sort of conformation on my synopsis of your litany:
1 replaced CPS
2 replaced CPS
3 replaced fuel pump relay
4 purchased fuel filter
5 replaced fuel pump relay
6 replaced CPS
7 problem still persists
I have also assumed the above parts were purchased new, not new to the car or a family member, but really new!! Am I correct?

Thaks for your quick reply
@Plutoe, yes all parts were purchased new. I did not install the second CPS as it turned out to be the Fuel Pump Relay.
Your pretty close though.
@BXliteyear, no I have not checked the MAF but I did use some MAF cleaner on it right after I got the car. Would that cause the no fuel at the rail symptom?
Willing to try anything at this point. I'm on my way to check all f the fuses and for any bare wires right now and if I get it fixed I will surely update you all.
I'll check back soon for replies if I find no obvious cause.
Thanks Again,
DRGOODBAR
