Command Radio out

2000 E55 Radio with nav has suddenly gone out on me.

Got out of car and went in my house for 15 minutes, came back out and turned car on and no stereo. No loud beep when turning car on, nothing.

However it will eject the nav CD.

Is it a fuse, or more in depth?

We'll it has happened again. This time it hasn't come back on

What should I check?

It does still eject CD's, but nothing more.

Pull the radio. Be sure to have the Radio Code.

Disconnect the cable and clean the cable end and radio connectors with Electronic Contact Cleaner. Re-seat cable then disconnect and repeat cleaning.

The code should be in a credit card shaped ..card in the glove compartment or with the manual...if you cant find it just post a pic of the serial number and model and i'll get the code for you

Wouldn't hurt to check the Radio fuses pins and seats behind the radio itself and fuse 11 or 5(depending on model) in the engine bay and under the rear seat for corrosion, just remove and re insert couple of times.
FYI i did this post using a thread RichardM98 posted :P

No radio code for the COMMAND unit. Only base model radio needs the code. As mentioned, it is typed on a credit card size card that should be in your owners manual package.
