98 E320 long crank when warmed up

hey, i know, this problem has been talked about before and i have read much about it. but the problem persists. car starts fine when cold. after its warmed up, if left to sit for twenty minutes it takes way to long to start, 6 cranks or more. i have replaced the cps, pulled injectors & had them rebuilt & tested. reinstalled with same results. so i took them out and had retested, shop said one was bad, replaced it with a new one. same results. pulled fuel rail with injectors in the rail and pressurized rail to 50 psi. watched for twenty minutes no visible leaks. so i pumped back up to 50 psi & heated each injector to about 180* F. & no leaks. installed back in the manifold, same results. also installed new fuel pump and filter. same results. the FP builds good pressure & will idle, accelerate all the time having 57 psi +/_ 2 #. any ideas of what is going on. any suggestions will be much appreciated

We love this type of problem---loads of diagnostic time which equates to a large bill.

My suggestion is find someone with factory or equal diagnostic software and have them use the extended SDscan feature and spends loads of time---module by module untill they find the source of the problem--specifically start with the drive authorization system---something aint kosher!!

The most time consuming and therefore the most expensive diagnostic repairs surround customer complaints that are fault free and or described as intermittant---very simular to the OP.

With gassers like the OP--you have to start at either gas supply system or spark generation system, as there are no faults to develope a starting point, therefore you have to go through the complete syatem---the OP has indicated that he has tested the gas supply system, that is why I suggested the spark side---what I call the drive authorization system.

The DAS system that I referenced consists of keys, ignition module, steering lock, K40f--relay board, ECU, CPS, plugs, wires and coils!
