Tripped up on the sprint to home, frustrated!
I have recently installed a set of Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs, replaced my shims with 1's in all 4 corners (original had 3's in front/1's in back). I also threw on some 18" rims (specs being front-tires 235/40 and rims 8.5"wide 33 offset)...I couldn't be happier with the outcome, no rubbing and a slight rake.
Unfortunately it was a short lived bliss, it's been about 350-400 miles and I have started rubbing on the front drivers side, weird enough, it's not the top of the fender that's grabbing it, it's right above where the bumper and fender meet. Today I took it to a shop to have the front fenders rolled and they told me they can't roll the lip that far down on the fender, they only rolled it to about a inch from where the fender meets the bumper, didn't solve it, rubbed on the ride home.
Why all my blabbing? I need some advice, anyone else had this go on? Can be fixed without having to put thicker spring pads? Can it be rolled lower? Maybe the shock died on me causing the slight offset? As you can tell, I'm no mechanic, but I have had every car I owned in past lowered, so I kinda know what to expect or solutions to such, but this is the first being so finicky. The other option I was pondering, if I were to try a thicker pad, do both fronts need to be swapped or can I do just the one without making it wear weird?.....I'll stop writing a book here, but Im just about to just throw a wrench threw the windshield and say **** it! I've got this far dotting the i's, crossing the t's and something stupid like this gets me at the last hurdle, soooo close, just don't get it! any advice or is the wrench gonna be going threw my windshield?

MBWorld Fanatic!
sounds like you picked up tites and rims with AMG specs. you also lowered it with extreme low offset... nearly 10mm less then normal 210 specs.
whoever recommended that you select those parts didnt do enough to tell you the you would be pushing the envelope. better recommendation would have been 225 tires up front

I'm going with a similar set up on mine but my wheels are 19x8.5 squared. With Spacers I am at ET 25 F and 17 R.
I'd love to see pics of yours

Anyhow, unfortunately after trying everything and opinions from everyone, looks like dropping from 235's to 225's in the front will be the fixing answer. Tough pill to swallow considering how much someone's bs advice has and is gonna cost me!

I originally wanted/intended 19"'s too, after seeing and hearing the nightmare stories with bending em I got cold feet and went 18"'s. However, after being on 18" for a while, I think 19" would have been just fine. So vice versa with the pics when yours are on...for now I'll get some up for you, stay tuned!
