Driving with abs and ets on

Hi, i recently had a tyre blowout, so i got the tyre shop to fit some 245/45/18 tyres that i got really cheap but now when driving over around 80kmph the abs and ets sensors go off and will light up, are there any risk of damaging the car driving with these lights on? other than not having the abs and ets active?

The systems are very sensitive to differences in tire or tyre diameter as that data reflects in wheel speed differences, which reflects in faults---put a good set of tires on the car---and no you will not damage the car!!

Unfortunately it is christmas and i have no money to replace these tyres at the moment..So putting a good set of tyres on the car in the present is out of the question. All i was after was an answer as to whether or not it would damage the car driving with the ets and abs lighting up. Sorry if that was blunt, but it is the truth

If all the tyres are the same size...diameter, then no fault lights should show.

However, if you really have put different size tyres on...no damage will be done...but why did you do such a thing in the first place???

So, you are saying that the rear tyres are a different diameter to the fronts? IE...I'm asking what size your fronts are?

So the rears are 2 inches greater in diameter than the fronts, not a bit of wonder the lights are on...must look quite funny too!!

To be honest it does look a bit funny...but i cannot afford to replace the two tyres right now, so it will haveto do, i was just wondering if it would damage the car thats all. Obviously when i can replace them i will be replacing them with the right size tyres

I don't think you will damage anything...but most things will not work properly including the ABS, ETS and the cruise control.
