2002 E320 Base
Gas Pedal Stops Reacting

Hello everyone,

This is my first thread on this forum. I own a 2002 W210 E320 Base, and really happy with it overall. Recently though, my car started to suddenly get completely unresponsive to the gas pedal. When I pull to the side, and restart the car, it starts working completely fine again. Even though this happened numerous times, I only got one error code which is 0123 - Throttle Positioning Sensor High Input. I suspect the TPS would cause a sudden shortcut to stop all the connection between the gas pedal and the engine. I feel like it has to be something else, but still unsure. If someone else had the same problem, I would appreciate your help a lot.

Thanks,
Mert

2002 Mercedes wagon
I had a similar problem with my 2002 E-320 wagon. Car runs fine but if I aggressively mash the accelerator the car would lug and gradually gain speed. I did the transmission reset and it runs fine now. How can I tell if it is the transmission ECU or the TPS. Thanks

Without the tools and knowledge---I would suggest a night course in voodoo to answer that question.
