Windows stopped working
So I just bought this 98 E300 and the auto function on the windows didnt work but the manual (soft touch) worked so i didnt care also the moon roof doesnt work figure the motor went out. I was driving all around today and i just got in my car for the last time to drive home and now the windows dont work at all. its 10F out so i havent looked at fuses or anything yet. Saying the fuses are good whats the deal??

All four failing points to the fuse or some other interruption in the circuit.
Each window is individually fused *but* all four windows also share a fifth, common fuse.
Search for "1998 W210 fuse diagram". The April of 1997 diagram I looked at shows that fuse 3 (7.5 amp) located under the rear seat is the common denominator.
Check that fuse first and use a multimeter to ensure the fuse block is receiving power to that location. Next, continue downstream and check the individual fuses to see if they are receiving power.
Schematics help. Window control modules are next likely culprits but it seems a large (but possible) coincidence they failed at the same time.

I figured it out the mirror switch power is tied into the window circuit either ground or power idk but I pulled the panel to look at the shifter must have pulled the mirror switch.
Now for the moon roof I haven't tried to figure that out. How hard is it to drop the head liner so I can check for power at the motor??
