rain sensor

Does anyone know how to "disable" the rain sensor on a 2001 E430 (without messing some other electrical stuff up)? Thanks.

Anything which could cause new codes and/or "malfunctions" due to messing around with the rain sensor thing. Frankly, I would be happy with being able to set up the wiper system so that the delay setting worked like my old '96 E320 (i.e, forget the sensing); that is what prompted my question.

Actually, it seems that after further use the rain sensor may in fact be working correctly, and that I was simply unacquainted with this kind of "operation," since I haven't owned a car with this device on it before. I'm giving it several weeks of trying it to see what, if any, direction I should take. Thank you for replying; I always appreciate help and suggestions from people with far more experience than I have (which is pretty minimal).

MB rain sensor is probably the best one on the market. Calibrated just right. Not hyperactive like the one on my wife's Infiniti M56. That setup is awful.
