2001 E-430 - Car Accident

This weekend we got in accident. Other driver ran the stop sign and crashed into my E-430. I don't know why other driver did not see the stop sign, she pushed my car about 9-10 feet. Other Car was Chevy Malibu.

We are injured in this accident.

My 2001 E-430 driver door and driver side passenger door got totaled.

I noticed that E-430 side airbags did not deployed. Why my side air bags did not deployed?

Is this is Mercedes air bags defect that did not allow air bag to deployed.

My car insurance company will cover all. Also it was other driver fault.

But I am concern about the safety aspect of these side air bags.

Can Mercedes Benz be liable of air bag defect Or why air bag did not deployed in this side impact accident?

Any feed back will be appreciate.

Thank you for that glowing post, however you will be best served in answering your air bag question by discussing all the true facts with your attorney.

As to why it not deploy--it obviously did not get the message to deploy and that indicates to me that something in the SRS system is/was faulty---if possible I would get the car scanned, but remember you are driving a 14 year old car

Plutoe thanks for your feedback.

I talked to MB USA, MB has assigned the case now, they are sending their inspectors to inspect the car.

My nice car got trashed. I just put new Michelin Tires, brakes, rotors, 4 wheel alignment, AC Service, transmission service and oil change.

My car was ready for spring travel.

Look like I will let my car go. I learn one lesson that if your car older then 5-7 years, don't expect to recover your $$$ that you spent on your car. Don't put too much $$$ on your car if it is older then 5-7 years, you will not get that back.

They will give you what KBB lowest values, they don't want to know about your new Michelin tires or new rotors or new brakes or 4 wheel alignment or new catalytic converters etc etc.

I drove the car, it is driving great, all good on engine, transmission and drive , steering wheel etc. Good running car.

Please can any one of you have any opinion or advise on how I can get $2000 to $2500 for my car. I really like to recover some $$$ for what I have spent in 2015.

!

Some ins companies have a little "secret book" they don't willingly share with policy holders which lists values for "exceptional" vehicles. I have used that to my advantage in the past; perhaps you should investigate that by insisting your car is "exceptional" and worth more in coverage than the usual "line" they use in minimizing your car's worth.

P.S. Don't give up so easily; dogged persistence sometimes pays off.
