1999 e320 a/c airflow problem

A/c works fine, however the dual air control has cold air on one side
and hot air on the other. blower works well.
is this a problem with the air blend door ? or actuator? climate
controls? or is it just low 134?

If it were me, I'd start with the duo-valve. They often get sticky if the coolant isn't changed regularly. If one side sticks, air temp will be different between left and right sides.

This may seem obvious, however are both sides set to the same temp.

Before to start tinkering with anything do the actual value and fault test--post that data, because that data will help you determine what is faulty.

All the test instructions are apart of the stickies!!

Thanks to RichardM98,
The air flow problem was the duo valve,
I checked all the codes( looked on line )
for the proper min. & max. limits and all
were within proper operating conditions.
I then focused on the duo valve theory.
I went to the web again and found the
procedure for R&R and also found cleaning
instructions. We change the coolant every
two years because of the high temps.we
experience eight months of the year.
and was surprised that the plungers in
each valve were encrusted with a crystalline
structure. One was stuck open the other stuck
closed. I used CLR to dissolve the gunk.
Now I can hear the valves open and close
when I unplug the unit. Problem solved!
Thanks again RichardM98 well done!

I find you comments on the test results--------absolutely amazing and very misleading to all that read the post!!

Why do I say that, a good duo valve gives good data, a faulty duo valve gives bad data--you could not have had a faulty duo valve---with what you said-----"I checked all the codes( looked on line ) for the proper min. & max. limits and all were within proper operating conditions."------------that statement is not possible with a faulty duo valve and results in mis leading all who read the post!! To prove my point what are the values for the duo valve ------now???

No I don't consider my post particularly amazing, only the data which indicated no problem! "Misleading you bet." "I thought this is odd, what now, back to square one"? so I chose to peruse a course of action which included the only sound advice that I received from this forum.( RichardM98 check the duo valve!)
His insight saved the day and left me with the "amazing mystery". Why is this data flawed? Also, can I trust the results from any of these readouts? I may post this to the forum for serious dialogue. Plutoe, are you not the post that proffered
the "advice" "is the temperature set properly"? Really, is that it?
I expect more from those claiming "Fanatic" status. However, I do appreciate your diagnostic ability in recognizing this mystery and I know without a doubt
you wouldn't be there if you couldn't do it!! although,I could use less cynicism.
