220D Starting issues

Hello,

Regular W210 220 Diesel NOT the cdi engine.

I have read the parts on the forum with the most common faults, so I bought a new cps and swapped out the old one today. Now it seems like the car will start when it's hot, so that's good

But, for it to start, I have to put ignition on wait for glow to finish, then ignition quick off and start.

I can not put ignition on, wait for the glow to finish and start, if I do that, the epc will light up and the engine will not go as it should. Then I have to turn it off, I can start it again momentarily and it will be as normal.

Anyone have any ideas what's up with my car?

Also, if I forget to do it that way, just start, I then have to stop it of course, and start it again and the epc is gone and it runs like it should, so now I can drive but then cruise control doesnt work! If I remember to start it 'correctly', the cruise control works.

You should really take the time to have the faults read---then you will be in a better position to address the problem!!

Great now you go to WIS/EPC to better define the repair procedure for Y23/212 and define part number----then shop the part!!

Yes, dunno what that is, but the guys that read the code to me said that I have to change the diesel pump. So it's probably too expensive to fix.
