E320 starter engagement delay

Folk, I have a new to me 1999 e320 w 113k miles. It has an odd intermittent problem.

In most cases with either key I have hold the key in position 3 for up to 20 seconds before the starter engages. It then starts without an issue. No error codes.

Any experience or ideas would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Les

Sounds like you have a faulty ignition switch---however the W210 EIS is not apart of the OBD therefore your happy camper reader can't read the module-you will need a factory or equal diagnostic tool to read the switch.

That being said you have checked all the fuses, relays and other modules in the starting circuit!!
