1997 E300 Diesel no throttle
I have a 1997 E300 Diesel. Bought it not running, and have almost no history on it.
It initially wouldn't start. Mostly just air in the system.
Now have it to where it will start, but will only idle, and only for about 30 seconds.
There is no throttle response during any of this. I'm not sure if throttle should move the rack with the engine not running, but it doesn't with it off or on.
It also does not have a working tach.
Which brings me to one guess. If it doesn't see RPM, does it shut itself off?
Wondering what to check next, and if there is any link between the tach not working and the throttle not working. Also, any checks for throttle?
