Possible broken alternater???please help!

Hello, let me start by saying thank you prior for any help I am a about to receive. I currently have a supspect broken alternator, and would like the opinions of you guys on what you suspect it could be.

Symptoms

recently have been experiencing BAS/ESP light intermittency after a bit of driving around.

I also noticed a sort of creek coming from the car

When battery was jumped all lights, radio, air, ignition switch, etc, but the car would not start as if the battery was dead

Once jumper cables are removed all electric functions stop

Not sure if this is just volts being read because the car was being jumped, but when using climate control diagnostic volts measured around 13

Also battery is less than a year old

Again I really appreciate all comments on the subject!

check battery voltage, static as well as under load. check battery fluid level
if traditional flooded cell design and if so, also check specific gravity for
proper health. the fact that it was 1 year old has little bearing at this early
point in the diagnostic review

The way I read it, and forgive me if this is not true...you had the key in the ignition and turned to position 2 when you tried to jump the car?? If yes...it's toast.

Did a little more investigating turns out I have a cracked terminal causing a lose connection. Tightened it to the best of my ability and it fire right up. Still have my esp bas light on but my check engine is off can a lose connection cause irregularities in electronics? Also my auto window function isn't working when you press the button all the way down.

Start car, turn steering all the way to right, then all the way to left, this resets steering angle sensor and lEBS lights will go off.

Now hold a power window button up, but don't push it all the way. Window will go up. Continue to hold button like that for 2 seconds after window reaches the top. That will reset the window and it will work. Do that for all 4 windows.

This is normal reset procedure after power is interrupted and is in your manual. Nothing wrong with your car
