HI everyone,

I have an 01 E320 with tan interior, which is in really great shape. However the driver airbags cover on the steering wheel, (the part with the radio controls and MB emblem in the middle) is starting to fade, and show black spots. Anyone have any tips on how to restore it? Or where I could buy one in good condition? Or would anyone know how much this part costs from the dealer?

The ones on Ebay look way worse than mine... I've had no luck the past 3 months searching for one that looks to be in good shape.

Well you are screwed. The item you call a cover is actually the air bag assy part 140 460 27 98(you have to add the color code for your VIN)

All the crap you see on line obviously does not have the air bags,therefore I would be very careful when going the used approach.

You may want to take the car to an upholstery shop and ask for their restoration guidance!!

Thanks for the part number! I think I'll go ahead and call the dealer and see how much they want for a new one, and if it gives me a heart attack you have a pretty good idea of taking it to an upholstery shop.
