Ok I have 99 e430 just purchased I have driven an put it thru it's so called paces. I started let it run up to temp revved an blipped accelerate drove an punched it full power stop punched again also slow rev up to full throttle even went thru gears an reverse an engine felt good an steady good starting point to begin with I thought figured round 3-$4000 would have the car solid again. Ok here goes took it to a well known Benz mech certified an all he test drove the car an said the engine an tranny felt good an solid said car didn't fell up to Benz level far as ride an such ok we pull in he gives me a ball park fig for what I want to do same quote as in my head round 3-$4000 this was a Tuesday he says call him following Monday I do an then he says I'm swamped call next Monday smh. Ok so I call Monday an he's like 'come get your car it's not worth fixing' I'm like umm ok what's wrong with it? His reply 'I don't have an hour to tell you what's wrong....its gonna be $7000 to fix'....whoa!!!!...um ok but what's wrong with it?...'listen just come get the car!'....to all the Benz heads should I run?..what could be so wrong if the car drove so strong?...please help first Benz ever I like the car a lot but not for $7000!

It sounds to me like your mechanic is what is wrong. Yes I would run from him, drive the car and fix what ever YOU find wrong. Look for a locally recommended mechanic with Mercedes experience.
