I have an 01 E430 and when I went to have the brakes down, I was told that there were larger pads / calipers, etc in the car then what the service manual called for. Does anyone know if they offered the car original with a big brake package? Maybe a sport brake/suspension or something from the factory? Thanks!
from the factory the 430 did not have a brake upgrade package however there are quite a few different brake setups you can install from other cars (c55, e55, clk55, etc)
Hello friend... According to vin number, your car isn't standard e430. It's 4 matic. According to MB EPC program on your car is installed front brake rotor with part nubmer A210 421 23 12. Also your w210 has 2 piston floating caliper (W210 amg style) against one piston floating caliper (RWD E430).
This brake rotor (A210 421 23 12) is 330MM in diameter, Standard USA E430's have 300MM brake rotors in front. Also your car's set isn't AMG... W210 AMG's have 334MM front rotors.
That's why you found that your car has bigger rotors than usually e430.
Yes, your car is 4matic e430...It has more powerful brakes than RWD E430, but not as much strong as E55. (E55 has bigger rotors and calipers with AMG logo on it).
