ADVICE on Buying a 2000 E430 Sport
Any feedback and advice appreciated!
I'm interested in buying my co-workers (Rob) 2000 E430 Sport with approximately 160k miles on it. He's done the regular oil changes and has fixed small issues with the car when they pop up e.g.(headlamp, mass air sensor etc..) I believe I recall him saying he's the 3rd owner.
Issues at the moment that I can see:
- A/C not working
- Rob states #5 cylinder is misfiring (Maybe a bad coil?) It does shake wobble at low speeds. When you speed up it goes away????
- Front right catalytic converter rattles (Pretty sure it needs a new one)
- ABS, BAS/ESP & Check Engine indicator light on
- Displays Headlamp Defective (One of the Headlamps was replaced with a used one. Both headlamps work at the moment)
- Radio doesn't work (I think it needs the code)
- Its been parked the last year although he has been starting it up here and there.
Is it worth buying with the current issues and are they easy fixes?
Any feedback I appreciate, thanks ALL.
Spark Plug picture is a found spark plug in the car while test driving it. What do you think about how it looks?

Thanks for responding all. The only reason I thought of buying it was the very low price.

There's a point when free is too much for a 15 yr old car. It may need more repair work than the car is worth, particularly if there are serious engine problems.
