Transmission gave out. Any advice?

Hey guys, I need some help. Is there any way I could use a transmission from a facelift w210? I've read that they fixed a lot of the problems that the transmissions on the pre-facelift w210s had.

The part number is 210 271 08 01

Also, what other parts should I inspect for damage after my transmission gave out?

Hey bro----not a problem, simply put the same transmission model number back in the car----like 722.6xx = 722.6xx-----no other parts needed, however you may want to find a more sporty pair of caps or get full wheel well covers!!

What worries me is reading problems like this, where the owner swapped another transmission in.

I'm picking this transmission up locally, and I would love to know if it would be a direct fit for a 98 w210.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/MERCEDES-W20...eae0af&vxp=mtr

Part number on one side is R 140 271 26 01
and near the front of the transmission is R 210 271 08 01
There's no picture of the raised plate, and I can't zoom in enough to see it clearly.

Apparently, this is out of a 99 clk320. I would like to know what I would need to do to make it work.

The safest way to check is you provide the VIN for the donor car that way you will know what transmission was factory mounted---then compare the data---wada you get!!

I contacted the seller, and he doesn't have the original VIN.

Quick question, does the bottom number in this set of 3 rows matter? Those are the only numbers that don't match.

The part numbers you have listed are torque converter part numbers that go with a touch shift tranny 203 270 39 00, but is VIN sensitive and could be for a number of transmissions---without a VIN pass and keep looking for the correct transmission
