03 e500 carrier bearing

So the dreaded drive shaft decided to stump me into thinking a dust shield was rubbing up against a rotor. I finally managed to get up under the car and inspect it. And sure enough, there was about a 1/4 to 1/2 INCH of play. Not to mention I could visually SEE where the shaft was touching the resonator and making contact.

I have yet to find any in depth picture diy threads or video repairs on how to go about doing this. Can You Replace Not Only The bearing, But The Bushing As well?? Do I have to press the bearing off the shaft? Does the ENTIRE drive shaft have to be removed? I read that you need to mark the shaft due to balancing reasons. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd rather get free responses while u can until my buddy's shop opens tomorrow. He has all data and u can get him to give me the specs. Just wanted some first hand experienced responses.
