95 OM606 Cylinder Head same as 99 ?
I recall one of the diesel posts stating that the OM606 heads from 95 through 99 were interchangeable. Can anyone confirm that ?
I've found a 95 head for my 99 turbo (prechamber locking ring stripped out) and want to make sure it will fit.
Thanks

Do't have the VIN on the 95 since it was pulled by a recycler. Could ask for a part # tho.
I've since learned that the N/A heads have smaller diameter valve stems than the turbos. Probably not an issue unless the cams have different specs for duration and lift. Don't want to mix valve train components.
I'm pulling the head on the 99 today and seeing if a machine shop can sleeve the locking ring. Not ideal but at least I know the history on my head.
Tough to find heads for these cars.

Thanks for doing the check on the part #'s. I'm guessing the valve diameter is slightly smaller on the N/A than the turbo since they wanted the turbo to breathe a little better.
The TD has 240k miles so if they can't repair my head I'm willing to look past the N/A's smaller valves. Running out of options.
