Delay reading on instrument pannel
Hi when I start my 99-E320 the fuel gage flickers on the empty mark for about 3-5 seconds and have no tachometer then after 3-5 seconds I get a proper reading on both fuel and tachometer anybody have any idea what it might be ?. Thanks for viewing Randy.

Out Of Control!!
I know what you are going to think but don't. The problems are independent of each other---the tach stepper motor gets its signal from the crank position sensor---one or both are failing---the fuel gage, you either have a failing fuel level sensor or fuel gage sensor---or this is all a bunch of HS and you have a bad ground!!
How to make the determination, possibly in your case pull the IC read all the info on the wiring diagrams and start testing!!
