Passenger Door Courtesy Light
Hello all, new member here. Just picked up a very nice low mileage (77K) 1997 E420. The car is in excellent condition overall, just a few minor repairs to perform. Beautiful car to drive!
I have changed out a few burned bulbs and when I got to the passenger front door courtesy light I found the bulb was fine (switched with bulb from another door that was working). When I open said door all the other door lights come on except this one so I think that means the door switch is working correctly? This could either be a power supply or ground problem but before I tear everything apart I though best to check here to see if anyone has had a similar problem and what they may have found?
Also, the lower dash panel under the drivers side is missing a few retaining screws but I cannot seem to find a parts diagram showing these screws (length, size, etc). If anyone has any info on these it would be appreciated as well.

the first thing you should do is determine if there is voltage at
the bulb connection. you're presuming there is. but since electrical
connections are the first suspects, it may be corrosion right where
the wires join the bulb connections etc. simple measure, if you have
a volt meter. $10-20 at harbor freight, walmart etc.
good call to swap out the bulbs with the other door(s). at least you
know the bulb is good
