1999 E320 Alarm goes off all by it's self
Hi My name is Randy and have a 1999 E320 that the alarm just goes off about 60 seconds after locking W/Remote all by it's self so I unlock the doors and without opening the doors the alarm still goes off after about 60 seconds I hit unlock agene and open the door and the alarm stays off, any ideas?.Thanks for viewing.

Out Of Control!!
The central locking\anti theft system is complicated--in your case you could have one or more sensor\switch faults(there are 15) all the way up to a faulty PSE unit which in your case controls when the siren is sounded--if you want to do it correctly find someone who has the DAS\HHT diagnostic system and have them run a quick test---FYI,all the "B" central locking and anti theft faults can not be read by a handy dandy scanner.
Simply be watchful of spam and bad guesses that will run you around the may pole!!

First, lift your rear seat and check for water.
I had a similar issue three years ago, there was water from a cracked AC drain hose on the entire passenger side of the vehicle. Vacuumed all the water, dried everything, cleaned the central locking unit with electronic parts cleaner and reinstalled, no more issues.
It's worth a look.
