2000 Mercedes E430
Mercedes E430 Engine Malfunction
I recently purchased a 2000 Mercedes E430 Base Model which I originally was told that it might have had a head gasket leak and was also leaking anti-freeze but for only $400 I thought I was getting a steal. After working on it for a couple weeks we finally completed checking head gaskets and after that we did a cylinder compression test which showed that the cylinder had adequate compression pressure.
Then finally today we tried starting it and first it ran fine but with a faint smell of burning antifreeze. Which had me worried but then when we checked the coolant to check the level after running it for about 5 minutes the antifreeze was cold and bubbling out of tank prior to reaching to operating temperature. We called our local mechanic what cause enough pressure in the tank to bubble without heat and he said that it was most likely air in the line from when we topped it off.
So he then told us to run the car than to run it with the coolant cap off to let the air bubbles out. So we did that and after about minutes the air bubbles stopped and it was running fine again. Then we shut it off and now it starts turns over about three times than stops and I am out of ideas as what could be the cause and it now gives an alternator/battery error on dash.
Please Help?

Have you run the codes? The ECU codes can be read from the Environment controls.
