BAS/ESP/ABS lights, vehicle won't start
Hello,
I have a 2000 E320. My wife was driving the vehicle last week when she stopped to make a left turn, the dreaded bas/esp/abs lights visit workshop lights came on. She pulled into a parking spot, turned the vehicle off, and attempted to restart the vehicle but it wouldn't turn start or shift out of park. I had the vehicle towed home and consulted other forums on here. I found the brake stop switch could be the issue. Today, I replaced the brake stop switch and the vehicle still does not operate.
I hope someone can help me diagnose this problem.
I replaced the front brake pads two weeks ago and changed the oil other than those two pieces of maintenance nothing else recently has been done to the vehicle.
I did not replace the brake pad wear sensors. Could this be the problem?? I would hope that complete shutdown of the vehicle would not be caused by the brake pad wear sensors.
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions for this problem.

Out Of Control!!
I agree with you a wear sensor would not cause your issue. I also agree that after reading all the misinformation posted on other forums you wasted more time and money!
Regrettably that without the proper diagnostic equipment all that is left for you to do is make sure all the wheel speed sensor wiring is intact and you have excellent battery voltage.
Assuming all is correct, then you are left with more misinformation,HS, sell the car as is or find someone who can read the ESP module and provide the "C" fault code(s) and thereby repair the fault!!
Disconnecting the battery will most probably take the car out of mechanical or electrical limp mode!! That is until it faults again!
I know,you gotta spend money---Oh well!!

I would not call this "sky is falling" like Bluto..
I would suggest the battery might be failing/failed to provide enough juice for crank.
With key out of the ignition - pull the battery - clean terminals including ground strap - and have battery tested.
Make sure you have radio code and reset procedures in hand (radio, steering angle, each window, sunroof) when battery is reconnected - again key out of the ignition when reconnecting the battery.
Keep the beat !

Thanks for the replies to my issue so far. I pulled the battery today and took it to be checked. I was informed that the battery is 100% charged. It it fairly new having been replaced in April 2015.

Blutoe... I understand you are trying to be helpful.. and so am I.
You know that multiple warning lights are commonly sign of failing battery.. and it's good to get that out of the way.
If it way me - I would recheck the brake light switch install - good "sticky" on that on benzworld.org forum - I am not a fan of the non-MB/knockoff switch - if genuine Mb switch recheck install.

Thank you both for your comments. I will recheck the brake light switch install as I did used a non mb switch for replacement. I also bought a Obd reader yesterday which didn't tell me much other than the abs couldn't be read. I love my 320 just find it hard to believe that a sensor somewhere won't even allow me to start the vehicle.
