Coolant Temperature Sensor 1996 OM606

Hey guys,

I just recently became the owner of a 1996 E300 Diesel and been doing some DIY on the car to put in back in shape.

Recently I've got stuck with one of the projects, I can't seem to find literature regarding the Coolant Temperature Sensor anywhere, at most I was able to cut and paste some scattered information regarding the location of the part but nothing conclusive. (Yes, I tried the Russian website)

Could someone help me with this project? I'd like to know the location of the part (apparently there's more then one) and I'd like to know if draining the coolant would be a necessary step for this project, the previous owner had just recently changed the coolant with MB official fluid and distilled water.

I intend to post a step-by-step guide with pictures of this project to help others with the same issue.

Thank you!

I think this is the one on the picture. Confirm by pulling and then shortening the plug.
