My W210 is gone
After 10 years with my 2001 E320 I finally decided it's time to go. I've driven it 100k miles (car has 161k total) and it has been the most reliable and enjoyable car I've ever owned. The AC just died and I decided it's time to look for something newer.
I was looking at 2011 W212's and expected to be blown away by it but when I went for a test drive, I wasn't really impressed. I didn't really like it better than my W210. I ended up with a pristine 2013 Cadillac CTS4 with 11k miles on it. It's beautiful. My W210 has a very happy new owner and hopefully he'll have years of use with it.
This board has been wonderful and you guys have been so helpful over the years. Gave me the confidence to do my own tune ups, window regulators, alternator and other stuff. I'll check in once in a while but thanks for everything guys!

Thanks for coming back.
Cadillac is one brand I did not own in my life
I sold last W210 quite some time ago, but made friends who will stay friends no matter what we drive.
Beside, I gained great knowledge about the brand and our present W211 and R129 not only have the same 5-sp but lot of other very similar systems.
The only thing that surprised me with latest purchase was soft top automatic retraction.

I've spoken to a close w211 owner friend and described my W210 sale experience and he stated that my car is likely soon to be in a container to Russia. I think he's probably right. The guy was Russian and had transporter plates. Apparently they can get 5k or more for decent w210s over ther and they're worth shipping.

Could be, but considering the cost, don't think Russians will pay much for 15 years old car.
Would that be a diesel or SUV, that would be different story.
I am sad to see how those cars sell in $1000 range and plenty of them in California, meaning no rust. Just cooked up paint and some models suffer from leather seats.
Than W211 in comparable condition seems to be even cheaper.
