used 2001 or new 2003 E320??

I'm thinking of getting a E320. I found serveral used 2001 E320 out there with around 16000KM selling at CAD$56000 (~US$35000). But should I wait for the new E320 this fall?? People told me NOT to get the new E320, because of unforseen problem with a new design in the first year of release. Should I be worry?

I do like the new looks of 2003 E320. The current E320 is kinda out-dated with a 1996 design. Any comments are appreciated... Thanks!

Get the car you want. If you want a 2003 get it and don't worry about the age-old "myth' of first year production car blues. Car engineering & development is almost an exact science now due to automation and computers. Cars have very few bugs now. Most first years complaints are about fit and trim parts and not about the running gear. If you can wait and can afford the extra money I would opt for the new car and the technology. Why would anyone buy used if they can get new? Good Luck!

how about buy a used 2001 E320 now and drive it for 2 years... then sell or trade it in for a new E320? Would that be good idea or just plain stupid (in terms of money-wise)?? :p

I'd buy the 2001 E320, it's an excellent car and all the bugs have been worked out of it in it's 7 years of production.

I don't think they quite worked out all the bugs.

Okay, okay, not all the bugs. But I betcha the 2002 E320 doesn't have nearly as many little faults as the 2003 model will.

i would take mbtech208's advice and buy a 2001. give mb 18 mos of experience with the w211 and you can bet they'll find ways/things to improve, however minor. w211 should be well-refined by 2005.

it sucks that we all know that there will be issues with the new E class... but like KwiK said, even with the 7 year run, not all the "bugs" have been ironed out...

i personally would go with the 03 model but expect to have some issues with it...you can probably make a deal with your dealer saying that if you have issues, they should come pick the car up and leave a loaner for you.... that way it won't be too much trouble
