They were doing the "right thing", CPO does not cover the cupholder. The dealer gets paid well by MB to do warranty work, if it could be covered, they would do it.

I think MSRP on the part is $68, just snap in a new one. Any good advisor would just pop one in for you on the service drive.....n/c labor

Oh well- $68 bucks is $68 bucks... thats at least half a tank of gas
The service guy actually quoted me $90 and I would expect them to pop it in
as its a no brainer.

I'll likely keep my $68-$90 as it will likely break again based on forum feedback and info. The empty space seems to accomodate a
a bottle or cup just as well (if not better).

IMHO, the annoyance of minor things like a cup holder breaking and then charging the customer to compensate for the weak design, do as much damage to a Companys credibility as any other mechanical failure.

lol... wow, well, living in maui we dont have a MB dealer on the island (the only one is in oahu) so i have to deal with the only authorized MB service center available here... i had my cup holder ordered at a ridiculous price of $110 as there is an insane mark-up on everything... now i know to just order my parts online!!!!

Someone had a post on this Forum recently about replacing the missing or broken spring......bought a replacement spring at HomeDepot and it fixed it fine. If the spring is missing, try this solution after you clean it up and put some lubricant on the moving parts.

need to replace my cup holder

I'm fairly new to this forum....and wondered how to contact KYBENZ about getting a replacement cup holder for my 2003 E320. I got the old one out, but not sure it's going to work with the lube 'fix'..... I found one on ebay for $90 + shipping. Is there a better price out there?
