Anyone has a clicking seat problem?

My drivers seat developed a "click" sound when I come to stop or speed up. I also can make it click by rocking back and forth. Can't feel any significant movement in a seat but the sound is quite annoying
Dealership tells me the whole rail has to be replaced, hmm, let me think, $900 out of pocket or listen to the clicking
Anyone has experience with this?
It sounds to me that the clicking is coming from the back rest and not from the bottom of the seat.

I have squeaking, not clicking. Dealer tried to fix it under warranty a few times but the problem comes back. Now it's out of warranty, turn up the radio and it goes away.

Got it! Click on driver's side when accelerating and stopping. Passenger side seat cushion has 1/8" vertical play when someone sits down or gets up. Bugs the *&^% out of me! Typical BS when trying to get issue addressed at service facility.

Yep, that's it! I am a perfectionist atleast when it comes to my cars
And it does bug me quite a bit! Now I find miself listening to the radio alot lowder than I use to
I am contemplating taking apart the seat and figuring out what's clicking down there!

I had the same thing on a new E-Class a few years ago. The rails were replaced under warranty and that eliminated the clicking.

You have a 2005 model car. Isn't there a 4-year warranty on the car?

Squeaking passenger seat

Has anybody resolved this? My '05 CDI with 160,000 miles is super quiet EXCEPT for a light squeak in the passenger seat that goes away if I pull on the seat from the side (while driving). Not a deal breaker but if you found the solution, I'd love to hear it. Peter
