Change out your choarcal cabin filter. Should located at the passanger side of the vehicle under the hood, it's laid against the windshield. Please, correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks...

I don't understand your case, you ask "how to get the smell out", do you smoke yourself or is it cigarette smoke outside of the car getting in and annoying you?

The cabin filter would only help for the smoke outside of the car. If you had a 4-zone AC with a separate charcoal filter, there you could put the blower to circulate air through the filter.

If it is about the smoke inside the car, the best thing would be to wash the car interior well and not allow anybody to smoke in the car (including yourself).

My two penarth is:

If a smoker has owned the car for a considerable period of time, then you have a problem. You can clean the interior, soak it in foo powder or any other pongy perfume, but the smoke will have been absorbed into the headlining, seats, and all the other upholstery.

It may be possible to remove this unpleasant smell but it will not be easy.

You could soak these in a bottle of malt whisky and leave them dangling from the interior mirror

John

Used car places are now using a "bomb" as they call it to remove the smell from a "smokers" car. the device is activated, and it suppose to fog the interior for 2 days in addition to scrubbing the head liner and carpet. Thats the best ive seen, but some of the smell still remains if your sense of smell is keen

Set light to the fuel.

Sorry for not coming up with a solution, but you have really set yourself a hard task.

Have you considered any of the non staining 'poo' odour remover's that are sold in some pet shops?

John

We do this in our hotels. We use a fogger that sprays the entire room with a non-toxic, GREEN chemical, and then we place an ionization machine that neutralizes any smoke particles and leaves the room clean.

Try a chemical called odo-ban or no-smoke. They all come in aerosol cans and leather cleaners as well.

This is why I would never buy a used car in which I smell anything close to someone smoking it. The smell will never go completely away no matter what you do IMO. If you're sensitive to smell then it will always be there, especially on hot days when the interior is giving off it on natural odors due to the heat. A hotel room is slightly different and much bigger.
