What size wheel spacers with 18x8 ET35? *Sample pic inside*
Long story short...bought some wheels on eBay, 18x8 ET35 and on the rear, they don't look quite rite...should probably have gone with a staggered setup 18x8.5 ET35 front and 18x9.5 ET35 on the back. Can't do much about it now so I'm looking to get some spacers. Besides, as a side note, apparently I need new lug bolts anyway because the stock ones with the new wheels only screw 4.5 turns into the hub and I'm a bit uneasy about that.
I have spacers on my '11 Audi A4 (wanted to keep the OEM Sport Pkg wheels but they have an ET47 ) so I pulled the rear ones which are H&R 20mm and test fitted them. (The front 15mm from the Audi wouldn't fit on the Mercedes hub).
What do you guys think? Is 20mm on the back with an 18x8 ET35 too aggressive? For reference, the W211 Sport Wheels are 18x9 ET39 so this would effectively be like putting 11mm spacers on OEM wheels.
Finally...should I put some on the front as well? Maybe like a 5mm or 10mm?

Seeing how I'm overly OCD...I had to go back and try out both the 20mm (rear from my A4) and the 15mm (front from my A4) on each of the back wheels of the E320. I came away deciding that the 15mm is the way to go. The 20mm, which some may like the appearance, I think looks unnatural in a way...they pop out at you and if you didn't know what it was, you would think that something about the car looks off.
For the front, I think I'm going to go with 5mm from H&R. They don't have the hub lip, but it doesn't seem necessary since the front hub is a huge 30mm in length, there is still plenty of hub left for the wheel to fit on. The rear hub by comparison is only like 5mm.
The staggered E55 AMG (for 2005 anyway according to the car manual) came with 18x8 ET30 front and 18x9 ET39 rear. Using the spacers I'm planning, I will have the same effective offset on the front and the equivalent of a 6mm spacer on the rear, so it still looks very factory but just slightly better.
