COMAND unlock, height adjust & more, could this be real???

I found this on eBay Germany:

http://cgi.ebay.de/Neu-Freischaltung...3A1|240%3A1318

Loosly transalted, google shows the text below, which makes some sense, but its unclear, my understanding of german is absolutely zero.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I can give, how and where to get cheaper unlock everything. (Mercedes-Benz workshop does not do).

The unlock the DVD / TV and code-free at NTG1 Command devices of all ages works smoothly.

Command to update the state SW 30/06 (currently last update) for permanent display of the remaining time and Km of the screen during navigation.
On the models of Br.W211, W219, W209 and SLK171, it is possible some additional functions in the Instrument freely Control.
These are e.g. the rest liter display in the onboard computer menu.
The time and date in Km / h menu.
For vehicles with AIRMATIC, it is possible for these approximately 1, 5 to 2 cm deep to legen.Dh The lowering is available in each mode.
For some of the vehicles Mod.05 BR W211 and the menu was "locked away in Spiegelanklappen"
This menu can be released.
Disable the Gurtwarnung in AI and the Gepiepse belt when not maintained.
Memory circuit for the sunroof.
---------------------------------------------------------------
If we can unlock the DVD on newer COMANDS (mine does not have the problem, some do), can adjust the AIRMATIC plus show heading & time/distance left on navi for 30 Euros, we may just have hit the motherload!!!

Please, someone with German skills poke this guy a bit to find out what this is all about. Lets see if its worth it.

I am sure he is just sending native SDS commands through the OBD port to activate this stuff. Pretty simple if you know how the network communicates.

Hm,

but Range is already there so that wouldn't be something new! About the seatbelt, that can be annoying I guess and Date/Time well if you need it. But the Tank Capacity would be cool.

You can also turn on the Audio Search feature that allows you to use the steering wheel controls to change presets or seek which is really nice. Coming from a 2001 W210 I really missed that.
I always wondered why you are able to set the date & specify how it is to be displayed, yet it displays nowhere in our cars. The number of gallons is a nice feature to display, as is Date & Time.

You think MBUSA will ever allow Dealers to turn on the "Check Tire Pressure" (Cheapo TPMS) warning to be displayed on American '07s?

I know the 2008 model ICs have significantly reduced the number of options available to be turned on. Are you referring to displaying the actual tire pressures instead of just "monitoring" them?

Just monitoring via onboard sensors instead of the wheel integrated ones.

Just "Monitoring" them. Its a cheapo way of minding pressure by using the ABS system which will notice a rotational speed difference on the tire due to low air pressure. It won't notify you WHICH tire's pressure is low, just that one tire is low.

The true TPMS I had on my '04 was not an available option on the '07s.

The cheapo system is electronically there on the 'US '07s, its just turned off in our market. Canada's cars has it turned on.

To make sure I understand correctly - the 2007 US model does not give any sort of warning of a low tire in any circumstance, but the Canadian models will tell you that a tire is low, but not which one. And you would like to have the Canadian feature turned on?

Barry do you know if a regular tech at a dealership is capable of enabling this tire sensoring feature with his standard rights in SDS?

Why is it not working? I cannot quote the first post and translate it correctly I get the message that my message is too short and I need to write at least 1 character.

Alright, with lots of tricking the forum software...

Better: COMAND Update to software version 30/06 (currently last update) for permanent display of the remaining time and KM on the dispaly during navigation!

BR (Baureihe) = MY as an info!

On the models of Br.W211, W219, W209 and SLK171, it is possible some additional functions in the Instrument freely Control.
Better: On the W211, W219 and SLK171 it is possible to enable some additional functions in the MFD.

The time and date in Km / h menu.

For vehicles with AIRMATIC, it is possible for these approximately 1, 5 to 2 cm deep to legen.Dh The lowering is available in each mode.

Better: For vehicles with Airmatic, it is possible to lower them about 1.5 to 2 cm (0.59 inches to 0.78 inches). That means, the lowering is available in each mode.

For some of the vehicles Mod.05 BR W211 and the menu was "locked away in Spiegelanklappen"
This menu can be released.

Better: In some of the W211 MY05 the menu "Spiegelanklappen bei Verriegelung" (Folding Mirrors in while locking car up" has been removed. This menu can be enabled again.

Disable the Gurtwarnung in AI and the Gepiepse belt when not maintained.
Memory circuit for the sunroof.

Better: Fasten seatbelt warning in AI and the beeping sound while not buckled up can be disabled.

If we can unlock the DVD on newer COMANDS (mine does not have the problem, some do), can adjust the AIRMATIC plus show heading & time/distance left on navi for 30 Euros, we may just have hit the motherload!!!

Thanks for the better translation, let's see what or if he answers. If its a CD, I would be afraid to use it, I would not risk loosing access to the eng. Menu and DVD in motion, etc.

Hey tashakes, do you have access to the engineering mode in your Euro COMAND?

About that mystic ebay item, I'll keep you guys posted of course but I don't think he will tell. Also I don't even think he is German, too many typos and grammatical errors in his description text. Might be a eastern block country fellow and that would be suspect already at least to me!

It could be a programming module that just attaches to the OBDII port, but I wouldn't think so for that price. That's about the only thing I could think of, unless he provides the places to go in SDS to make the changes, which would not be worth much for those who do not have SDS.

Thats is correct... although, I am leery of doing a "one off software mod" to my car since I had so much trouble with my '04, and NONE- zero - nada with my '07. I just thought that if MBUSA came up with this switch, and ALL the '07s had the feature turned back on it would be neat. On a slow leak situation, the low pressure warning on the dash display could give you time to leave the interstate and go to a tire shop or MB dealer for a clean, convienient tire repair/change. Rather than a roadside repair.

Lets just say anytime software is patched, there can be undesireable performance changes in the most seemingly random areas because there can be cascading waterfall effects from the change... and there are many instances of operational inconsistancies in the electronics of these cars due to less than stellar software design by MB in Germany as it is.

I can understand, MBUSA not making any changes as I'm sure they're looking forwad to leaving the 211 problems in the past. I for one am shocked that they changed the COMAND for just one model year... Unless they're experimenting on the '09 owners cars so that the 10's will be perfect. I hate "one offs".

Can this cheap method be enabled by a service tech at the dealership?

What exactly do you mean or does the EBay guy mean by ... 'ADJUST THE AIRMATIC'?? You can adjust it through the Command?
