stiff accelerator pedal?

I just bought my first MB three weeks ago and I had the same comment. I drove other E350's and in my opinion, that's just how they all are compared to other vehicles. I came from a Jeep Cherokee and it took hardly any effort to push the pedal.
With my E350, not only does it take more effort to depress the pedal, but other things like shutting the doors. Not sure if the doors are just heavier, or the hinges/check straps needs to be lubricated, but I found that more annoying than the pedal.

Seems to be the norm ror most Benz models. Every one I have ever owned feels "stiff". Personally I like that feel vs. the spongy feel on my domestic cars.

When there's 4 people in my car someone always fails to close the door completely
But I prefer a car that feels solid versus your typical american/japanese loose steering wheel/brake/accelerator/ and doors that a baby could slam close.

I think the door issue is the car being so airtight. Try shutting the door the exact same way/same force, but leave another door or window open (this is just for testing obviously... you have to deal with the 'issue') . I have seen this on numerous Mercedes models.
On the pedal thing- I noticed mine is stiff also. I prefer it to my old LS430 as it is much easier to ease into the acceleration and make for a smoother ride. You had to really finesse the LS to not get jerky acceleration.

It's definitely a Benz thing and I actually like it. I find the car very easy to drive either smooth and easy or aggressively. My mother used to complain about my Dad's old 300SDL that her foot got tired and that everything required a lot of effort. That was old school, though, and my 82 was the same. I wish my ML had the same feel as the E350. It requires less pressure and it is as I describe notchy in that it sticks and then travels. With the power of the V8 it took me a long time to master it. The dog still slides to the tailgate when I'm not careful. She's learned the command "hold on". It's a known issue with the ML.

It's not a stiff pedal but a "slow pedal." A lot of auto writers/critics coin it as a "slow go-pedal."
That's the problem with drive by wire. And the MB has a notoriously a slow DBW accelerator.
Sprint Booster will solve all that. I'm not sure they have one yet for the current E350. I emailed them once but never heard back. Anybody know?
