2005 E320 CDI
Hi all!
I purchased my 2005 E320 CDI last month (05/2014) with 42,744 miles out of Northern VA, now just over 44,000 miles after a fly-n-drive back to Central Florida. On my first tank, I drove 785 miles on 20.2 gallons of diesel for a total of 38.9 MPG. I settled on the CDI after doing a lot of MB diesel brand research and driving other manufacturer's cars including the BMW 335D, the Chevolet Cruze Diesel, and the Audi A3.
When I had the car checked at the local dealer after I made it back, the service writer was a weenie and wouldn't print me a copy of the data card or show me the service history because it said "internal use only". Bah humbug. Car is calling for a "D" service in 11K miles.
So far I've just done the multi-point inspection and brake fluid flush (to maintain the SBC warranty for the last two years), it needs a tranny pan service, a rear diff fluid change and a PS fluid flush, all because of years/miles. Dealer wants to change both motor mounts due to "wear" and says it has a collapsed rear tranny mount. I'm getting these services quoted from the local indy shops.
But, so far so good. It's my wife's daily driver and she is very happy. I had her in a Porsche Cayenne and she was having trouble seeing to back. No more....

Eric, congrats on the "new" CDI!
The data card is available online simply by subscribing (free) to the EPC.
I was able to get the service writer at the dealer where my car was serviced by the previous owner to email me
the missing service history on my car, simply by emailing them (attaching a copy of one of the service tickets I had).
If you're having other work done at the dealer, you might as well have them do the mounts too.
The quotes I received from most indy shops were not that much lower from the dealer.

Hi All,
Just got myself a very nice E350 Flint grey metallic 08 with 69k miles. I believe I'm the 2nd owner, it was a lease and one owner before.
My first MB and so far I'm just very happy with it! I already got a bluetooth for connecting my Samsung Note3. It has the package 1 and the Logic7 sound system.
Found this forum and am reading all I can find here and everywhere.

My 2006 E320 CDI
1) 2006 E320 CDI Black – I am the second owner. Purchase date: 6/10/2014.
2) 280,822 Miles as of today. (It had 279,365 miles and new tires on it when I bought it).
3) Everything works. I bought it knowing there is this one issue. It has a little engine vibration at idle speed. What is going on is the engine shudders a bit when it is shut down. Also a noticeable vibration is felt when engine idles below 800 rpm. Not a big issue. Just time to change the 2 motor mounts and the rear engine transmission mount. About $260 for the three parts and $180 for labor at an indy shop to fix it. Will be fixing it this weekend and it will feel like new after that. Other than that, car has been well taken care of and in excellent shape, inside and out. Engine spins silky smooth and feels like it has just been broken in. Original owner’s purchase date is 8/26/2005 in Augusta, GA. It has a clean Carfax and has 36 service records. It has been maintained by the local MB dealer throughout and has had oil/filter changes done close to the recommended 13,000 mile intervals. I will be obtaining all the 36 service details from the dealer soon to get the full history.

Thanks pine baron! Your Buetec looks very nice too. I had a 2008 Jetta TDI 2.0. It was 50 states compliant. I gather the bluetec and the post 2008 tdi are very similar when it comes to the exhaust gas treatment to be 50 state compliant.
I have a question for you guys. As you can see my service message says I am due for a 'Service F' during the next service. Can anyone tell me what is involved for this milestone? The maintenance booklet only shows unto 195,000 miles. Thanks.

Out Of Control!!
Turned 100,000 on the way to NOLA.
If you are going to do 100K, you might as well do it at 100MPH!
EDIT:
Forgot to say.
Cam magnets or sensors (Warranty)
Rear sunshade. (Kid induced)
Drivers seat bottom cover (Cracking on bolster, guessing wrong cleaner before I got it)
Thermostat
Trunk wiring near hinge
Still Needs:
HVAC fan squeaks
Belt tensioner. (Squeaks when cold)
