Angry Mercedes bluetooth module won't disconnect from phone...

Hi guys, I have a strange situation here;
I have a 2008 E350 4matic Mercedes for which I bought the Bluetooth adapter ($500 scam). Anyway, my Moto Razr V9 phone automatically connects to the bluetooth module as soon as I start the car. The problem is, when I turn the ignition off the module stays on. Furthermore, I can go inside the house, office, etc. and as long as I'm within range the phone stays connected to the vehicle. I ***** you not, it's been longer then 15 minutes today and the phone was still connected after I placed it on my office (car was parked outside approx. 15 ft. away). How do I or can I set the Bluetooth module to turn off? I don't even understand how or why the car stays in "low power mode" to support blueooth if the ignition is off. What use is that? Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

It is a known issue and I don't think there is any other solution than manually disconnecting the BT connection (either from the phone or from the car) if you stay too close to the car after switch off. Once it is disconnected, it would stay disconnected. You may make use of that too.

Wow Ok. Well thanks for letting me know that I'm not the only crazy one with this issue. For $500, this this is a total POS. Last question, is there a manual online or instructions on how to turn off BT on the console itself? It has no buttons, just a clickwheel or something just as stupid as the device itself, that I can't figure out how to turn on or off without ripping it out of the port.

Thanks again btw.

Actually for me, what's worse is that the BT connect to my phone as soon as I open the door. Could it be because of keyless go?

There are times, I opened the door, have not entered the car yet, and tried to make a call.
I could not hear anything on my phone because the BT was connected even though I have not even turned on the car's ignition.

The ignition doesn't need to be on. Even with MB211's advice, I still have problems with the BT going on at random. This is such a flawed and overpriced module, I don't even know where to begin. Shame on Mercedes for releasing such a POS.

Yes, I agree.
BT does work well once connected btw.
This is definitely software issue in COMAND, not a problem with the device.
I wonder if this is fixed in later model with integrated BT.

When I had my Motorola V3, I had a shortcut on my phone to turn BT on and off.
Now w/ with my BB8830, I have the icon for BT on the shortcut menu to do the same.

I have keyless go as well and the phone connects before I even reach the car and doesn't disconnect until I'm pretty far away.

The "TEL" button trick is going to help so if I'm on the phone I don't need to tell people to hold on while I fumble to turn off BT on my phone.

Does your phone have an audio source selection when connected to the car?
Don't remember how the razr works. On iPhone you can select MB Phone System or iPhone or Speaker so, for me, that resolves the problem. When in the car, the radio still mutes even if I choose other than MBPS.
