Out Of Control!!
Double check/reconfirm your diagnosis. The rear SAM(N10/2) does not interact with/or control any tail lights and or brake light functions!!
PS: Without a VIN and looking at a generic E240 MY03 it looks like the drivers side and passanger side SAM does repeat does interact and read the signals of tail and brake lights!!
FYI: There are many changes even within a model year that is why a VIN is even more important!!
