I've taken it in to the dealer more than 4 times and MB was able to finally replicate the issue but couldn't do anything about it since the car didn't "throw any codes." I think that's complete bull**** and was so pissed off when they charged me for the transmission service. Does this class action suit have anything to do with this issue. I read the link provided by the OP but it doesn't seem to pertain to my problem..just thought I'd ask if any one else is dealing with this problem.
Konigstiger, have any insight regarding this issue?

2007 CLK550
Car lurching forward prior to complete stop

Hi All,

First post from a MB newbie here
I'm in aussie and own a 2007 CLK500, known as CLK550 in other countries.
I bought the car used (approved Mercedes vehicle) a few months ago, but have a Mercedes 2yr warranty on the car. Generally very happy but I do have rough changes between 1st and 2nd when in sports mode.

If in Manual mode I very frequently get chirping when going from 1st to 2nd with TC on (under heavy acceleration)

I've had it back to the dealer several times and they say the trans is fine and no error codes. They also claim the car should be running the latest software, but reading this forum some people are saying the latest software should not allow you to manually change from 2nd to 1st unless at a complete stop? My car allows me to do up to about 35kph..

The latest problem I have is car will once every 20-30 times you apply the break to come to a complete stop (traffic lights etc) you get a lurch forward - it almost feels like someone has hit your car from behind at 10kph! This sounds similar to the problem that the user 09W211 mentioned above.

I am going to take the car to a different dealer and maybe get a trans flush.

If anyone has any suggestions or similar probs please let me know!

Is this the first stop shorting after starting (cold engine)?

Hi N_Jay
No the lurch forward problem appears to happen at various times, usually I notice it the most if driving on a freeway for about 15 mins, then hitting bumper to bumper traffic at the end which causes you to crawl along at 5kph, then eventually come to a complete halt when the traffic gets too heavy.

I've had this happen in Sport mode the most (but also can happen in C) when it has happened I have then out of interest (while at a complete halt) swapped into M mode to see which gear the car claims to be in and usually it is still in 2nd. This has only happened since I took it back to the dealer for the 6th time, they smoothed the 1-2 gear changes when accelerating (a little bit), but now I get the lurching forward problem.

It has also had the condenser plate in trans replaced under warranty as one of its various visits back to the dealership... but that was about 3 visits ago...
Also two days ago I had the car stall when coming to a stop at a set of traffic lights. I had to turn off ignition and turn back on, then car started and ran fine. Also since the last dealership visit the idle seems slightly rough, you can feel the revs changing, probably only 50rpms or so as the RPM needle doesn't move that much, but you do feel it through the floor of the car and its stock, no lumpy cams or massive exhaust etc!!

Thanks

Thank you Konigstiger. Can anyone tell me what I can do with this info? Is it part of a recall? Will Mercedes offer some assistance with repair since my car is in the affected range?
