I replaced the tensioner. I only waited 10 minutes after a 45 minuted hwy drive before starting this. Talk about working in a sauna!!!!! I now have new serpentine and tensioner but still have a slight squeak when turning and using gas.

Picked it up from a "day at the spa". Dealer did the 3 year/39k mile service with new fluids for oil, trans, 4MATIC t-case ($736-more than half of that just from the auto trans). Still enjoying its recent new shoes - Conti DWS glide smoothly and hang on tenaciously in the rain. The dealer inquired if we were interested in a new car yet, but this one barely feels broken in!

eventually, they break. common problem on the 03, 04 ones (don't know about the 05+ since the vent style was changed). what usually happens is the outer liner that hold the speaker to the magnet or whatever tears and you can actually pull the speaker out. so instead of pay $100+ for a new one I just pulled the speaker out but the magnet is still there. i'm sure you can find it cheaper, but I just got lazy for the tme being. i think it's due the way the sun hits through the windshield. makes sense that the S/CL's wouldn't be affected since they have IR shielded or whatever glass.
ya actually i get more bass now. lol always thought the harman/kardon didn't have as much bass as my old bose system in my 94 s420
EDIT: oh and oddly enough the screw holding in the left side of the speaker was a different size than the right and same with the two screws below those two. How weird?
Mine went out in my 06 and they wanted 600 for a new one at the dealership. I of course say no way. I might just go ahead and rip mine out till i can find a decent replacement That isn't near that much but same quality.

My car had better love me now! I found her with 80k miles and apparently no regular, or above and beyond maintenance much to my shagrin. Here's what I have done to date to bring her up to speed.
Flushed transmission, new fluid and filter
New struts all around
New lower ball joints
Rides much smoother now and shifts smoothly.
I changed my own plugs and now it pulls like a 'Mad Man'! On the first time out after the new plugs I couldn't keep the ESP light off!
I really enjoy the ride now

Changed my plugs on my E500 w/87.6K on it. Fairly simple job if you have the right socket extension. Took about 90 min to do. Feels peppier than before.

Changed out the rear suspension linkages/bushings, rear bearings, new rear springs, new front control arms with bushings, new front bearings, new front torque arms, flushed the coolant, new belt tensioner/belt, . Did it all myself. Gonna have a car that rides like new

2014 E550-sold 😩
Finally replaced my bent Rucha wheels with all new(used) straight wheels. Yeah, I replaced the Fat Five Ruchas with another set of the same! I am truly a glutten for punishment since these get bent so easily...., but they just look so damn good. I put on a fresh set of Conti ExtremeContact DWS and am very impressed so far. It's been raining for the last 4 days here in Chi and they are rock solid in the wet and quiet.

Just dropped her off at my indy shop for Service D and AUX battery replacement.
Got a little gift today too: had my remote case swapped out for free when I dropped her off guess it was just my lucky day
