Dynavin DVN-MBE-MOST
Hi all. I am new to the forums. I just purchased the DVN-MBE-MOST head unit. Before I start tearing up W211 dash, does anybody know how I can tell the difference on the head unit between the MBE & MBE-MOST? Also, does anyone have any installation photos? I found a forum on how to take out the old audio 50 head unit. Thank you in advanced.

All OEM MB W211 head units are MOST based. I guess you mean an Audio 50 head unit is not only built to support the MOST fibre system but does not work without it because it needs the AGW at the trunk in the minimum.
I assume the Dynavin units are different in the sense that some have no MOST fibre support at all (can be used in cars that came with the Audio 20 CD head unit without any optional MOST ring components) while all others need fibre support or speaker rewiring etc. (NTG2.5 would be different but I don't think anyone considers Dynavin as a replacement for an NTG2.5 head unit).

My mistake, I was referring to the Dynavin DVN-MBE-MOST. I've seen these units being discussed on several forums but no concrete answer whether anybody has actually made these work in their vehicles. INCARNAV.com states that these are compatible with all W211with MOST and the audio gateway (AGW) and the same with the Dynavin website but these are all overseas websites. By the way, my H/U is an Audio 50 w/MOST but no navigation. Basically want to know before I purchase one of these units, is this going to be a compatibility issue with the w211's in the U.S. or are these just for the W211's in Europe? Does anyone know? Thanks!

MBE MOST in W211 E220 CDI 57 plate
Hi, I had this unit fitted in my car 2 weeks ago. Happy to report that everything works fine, SW controls and cluster display too. The unit has a nice Satnav, bluetooth, ipod, sd card input, and two usb inputs (1 for media stick and the other I am using my 3g dongle for internet access (you need patches cost 40 USD - contact for details - with patch you also get neat iphone type icons on display and working desktop with office!!) Had this fitted along with rev camera and DTV tuner, £790 the lot inc fitting. Looks factory fitted and really pleased with it.

Gunnz33, did you ever find an answer to your question? I got an email back from Dynavin saying that their systems are not compatible with US models. Do you know of any other solution that will work on a 2003 e500 Audio 50 USA model? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Burn the dam headunit before it does more damage. Spent so much time and money on Dynavin and Hualingan brand headunits for my W203 and E39 BMW. Once you get them working they still drive you insane!

thanks willy_manilly. I was looking at both systems and I guess there is no good system except getting command and adding BT and ipod functionality from cartronics. I just wish there was something decent out there for w211.

Mine works perfectly. Back up camera, Bluetooth, iPhone integration, etc.. The most is an addition small black box that hooks up to your fiber optic cable so you can control your radio and volume from your steering wheel and it displays it in your display.

If you really got it working perfectly, you must tell us all how you did it

That's great! Is your w211 a US model? Where can I get the black box you are talking about? I have an email directly from Dynavin that's says the DVN-MBE-MOST does not work for US models. Any additional info will help all of us greatly. Thanks

Hello guys, new to the forum and I wanted to confirm that the Dynavin does work on US spec cars. I searched and searched and couldn't find a definite answer. I hope this helps.
I have a 2006 W211 E350 (US spec). After my first installation attempt, the head unit worked, but I didn't get any sound. I reinstalled the factory (Command) head unit. I was going to return the Dynavin, but I decided to give the installation another shot a few days later. The second time, the Dynavin worked and I got sound! So I can confirm that the Dynavin MBE-MOST android does work in US spec E-classes.
I think the mistake I made on the first installation attempt was I disconnected the in-dash 6 disc changer and that broke the fiber optic loop. The second time, I pulled the disc changer out of the dash but left all the wires connected.
Make sure that you get all 3 lights (red, green, blue) on the Dynavin Can-Bus box. The first time, I was only getting red and blue and no sound.
I have been playing around with the settings for a few days and even though the Dynavin isn't perfect, it's good enough as a perfect fit replacement to my Command unit that didn't have navigation, phone, bluetooth, usb, internet connectivity, and iPod/iPhone. It continues to get better as I get everything dialed in on the Android side. I put a Wi-Fi extender in my garage so updating and loading android apps is easy. I got my Dynavin for only $590 USD shipped from an Ebay reseller in Australia. Now I can honestly say I don't miss my Acura RDX tech.

So, what is the final verdict on these? The Dynavin website states that it will work on the MOST system, supporting the fiber optic interface and audio gateway system. However, Ottonavigps is stating it does not.

We did stock the MBE-MOST, expecting it to work with Fiber optic cables but the units were returned from customers stating that unit was not compatible.
Thus, we only carry the MBE Dynavin D99 now and customers that wish to install the unit are bypassing the fiber optic cables
