P0022 - Camshaft Positioning. Please help!

This is my first post to the forums but I have been lurking for a couple of months. Let me take this opportunity to say hello to everybody!

My problem is that I got a p0022 code from a OBD2 reader.
I have read up on this thread https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...l?ref=esp-link

Car & history:
I have a MB E500 W211 (called E550 in USA). It is an estate wagon from
2007 and has run roughly 70000km (44000miles). I have owned the car
for about a month. M273 engine. Don't know how to find the engine serial
number.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I have not noticed any CEL at all. The OBD2 check was done out of curiosity and I found the p0022.

Can I have caused this problem? If I recall correctly I filled the car up with
98 unleaded instead of 95 unleaded once. Then a day or so later I
remember that the car was not running smoothly and was shaking a little.
That passed after a minute and it has run normally since.

Is it the same for the V8 that I should change the magnets?

Anyone here have the same problem on the M273 engines?

Any suggestions?

Best regards,
Mathias

2007 Mercedes E-350 4-Matic
P0022 - "A" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Retarded (Bank 2)

I own a 2007 E350 4-Matic and recently CEL started coming after 50 or 100 miles and then goes away on it's own. Other symptoms I noticed is poor idle and stalling while accelerating.

After running the diagnostic it shows "P0022" in both pending codes as well as stored codes. Did online research that refers to be the bad sensors or magnets to be the most probable cause.

Before I try anything I want ask experts here, shall I start by replacing sensor and hoping that it may clear the codes and stalling, or shall I be running detailed diagnostics at the dealership before trying anything on my own.

Also what will be the part no. for sensors and magnets.
This is E350 with 4Matic sports suspensions and 272 engine no. below:

Engine no.: 272972 30 462814
Transmission: 722676 06 646849

P0022 (MB 0276) caused by a malfunctioning left intake camshaft adjustment solenoid (y49/4). Although you only need to replace malfunctioning solenoid I recommend replacing all four with improved part # 2720510177 MSRP $30, $22.50/free shipping http://www.oediscountparts.com/partl...?siteid=215242

Replacement: http://workshop-manuals.com/mercedes...noid_camshaft/ + next pages

Membership FYI 272 engine up to 30 759427 or 273 up to 30 193592 are equipped with older solenoids, engines produced after these serial #s are already equipped with improved camshaft adjustment solenoids.

Just came back with local Mercedes Dealership. He said that he doesn't see P0022 instead he mentioned that P0016 code is present which indicates replacement of all 4 magnets. I am 100% sure yesterday when I ran diagnostic it showed P0022 not sure why MBZ scanner shows P0016.

Does it make sense ?
He quoted me $850/ for replacement of all 4 magnets which is ridiculous. I don't think it should be more than $100/ for parts and $100/ for labor.

He also gave me "Diagnostic Assistance System" report that shows "P2203" as "Current and Stored" code. What does this code mean and does it have any relation to P0022 and P0016 ?

I told dealership that I am going to take my time to decide how I want to proceed with the repair work.

Thanks,

Sub codes:
1205 Constant adjustment of intake camshaft of right cylinder bank in direction 'Advanced' (P0016)
1206 Constant adjustment of intake camshaft of right cylinder bank in direction 'Retarded' (P0016)
1207 Constant adjustment of intake camshaft of right cylinder bank in direction 'Advanced' (P0016)
1208 Constant adjustment of intake camshaft of right cylinder bank in direction 'Retarded' (P0016)

P2203 transmission speed sensor best to replace conductor plate - part # 1402700761 optional w/0861 no relation to balance shaft codes.

BMW M roadster
I have the same code....

Has anyone done this job? I bought the sensor, but not the magnet. Perhaps, I should get the magnet too. It looks like I have to remove the coolant pipe too. I have a M273 engine.
