"BRAKE"

I recently purchased a 2003 E320 with 60000 miles on the car. Last night a red light came on the console with the word "BRAKE" and it stated that there will be longing stopping time... Called MB and they told me do not drive the vehicle and have it towed to them. I had an over all check of the vehicle when I bought it in November and the car was fine. Before I spend thousands of dollars on this car is it the brakes, a fuse, a short??? Did this ever happen to anyone and does anyone know what this is going to run me. Can I take it to a regular mechanic? Please provide me with any information you can. Thank you.

First, welcome.

Second, search the forum for similar problems, as there have been many.

Third, if you're going to post, start a new thread, don't bump an old one that isn't directly related to your issue.
