pic request: w211 with various AMG wheels
Hey all, I'm sure there's been a million threads like this but I searched and couldn't find anything useful.
I'm trying to decide on a set of wheels for my e500, but am having trouble. I'm wondering if those of you with various AMG wheel styles can post up pictures of them on your car. I'm definitely going 18", and have found a few on ebay that I like from various AMG cars and even a couple HRE replicas.
Thanks in advance!

I never use reps haha. I had 1 set and never will again.
First ones are CLS550 AMG Package wheels. Second are E55 AMG wheels. and Third are SL550 AMG package wheels
I have the First picture wheels still but with snow tires. If you want wheels only, $1000.

don't quite have that much to spend, that's why I'm gonna go with reps just for this season then put snows on my 17s and get a better set next summer when I should hopefully have more money freed up lol

Not all reps are created equal....these are quite good.

Anyone know where to purchase the Monarch e63 RS wheels from? Tried the search but no luck. I have some Forgestars on order but they are taking forever to get here.

DAMN those would look good on my silver 211. Only thing is I bet those are staggered, I'd have to find a non-staggered set of 18x8.5 to make that work (4matic)

Yes you are right. They are staggered. I didn't know that 4-matic cannot handle a staggered wheel setup. I would double check just to be sure because these wheels are definitely nice on a silver W211.

well, i mean it is doable. The only problem is you have to make sure the diameters are damn near exact (less than 1% difference). Meaning a 245/40 up front and a 255/35 or 255/30 out back (i forget exactly, 1010tires.com has a calculator). Even then it's kinda sketchy. And it won't just take out the trans, it'll take out the transfer case too

benz o rama -- which ones are those? Do they have a model number or something to reference?
out of curiosity -- is the design (the bolts) in the ring for a functional or cosmetic effect?

Wrong, as long as the rolling diameter is within the proper tolerances then it's fine. Some people have told me they think it will poorly affect ride quality though I'm not so sure, but this has question has been asked and answered a lot of the forums and yes it is possible. It isn't really sketchy as long as it is done properly and won't affect the transfer case if the difference is less 1/10 of an inch front to back, not from stock. The 1% is misinformation. So no jcat, that doesn't mean you can only do a 245/255 front-rear difference. Let me quote threeMBs from a thread where I asked this same question last year:
Anyway, back on topic. Love the look of these wheels, AMG replicas/different styles look great.
Its always recommended to be within 3% of stock's diameter (max) regardless of drive configuration.
Correct. As long as front and rear diameters are the same or close (within 1/10 of an inch), then width does not matter.
For example, stock 4matic size of 245/40-18 is 25.72". So to comply with 4matic, rear staggered size could be 275/35-18 (at 25.58", a bit more than 1/10" less) or 285/35-18 (at 25.85", a bit more than 1/10" more) - both not identical, but close enough.
Once you get to 19" or 20" wheels, then sizes become 245/35-19 & 285/30-19 (these are basically identical at 25.75" & 25.73" respectively) or 245/30-20 & 285/25-20 (235/35-20 & 275/30-20 are identical at just under 26.5" and can be used on stock W211 too).
To put it simply, for W211 4matic (same for W212 4matic as well) rear staggered tire needs to be 40mm wider than front (add 40 to first number) while aspect ratio needs to be "1 size" lower than front (subtract 5 from the second number).
